“Wayyy better than a motel!!!! Oh, I think it might be one, but you’d never know. The room was beautifully decorated with a southwest vibe, clean, and a pleasure to spend time in. So much character, helpful front desk, nice breakfast with community table, encouraging friendly conversation. My only wish is that I had booked for more nights. Stay here—you’ll love it!”
“What a great small motel in redrock country! The highlight is the beautiful garden--we'd love to come back in warmer weather to enjoy it. The breakfast is great (but allow enough time if the motel is full--it's a small staff making the homemade entrees). Nice attention to design and very comfy beds. Visit the nearby Edge of the Cedars museum for an excellent introduction to the ancient Pueblo cultures.”
“Stayed at Stone Lizard for a day before a 4 day backpacking trip and liked it so much we returned afterward for another 2 days. The rooms were well appointed, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding and unique with chia pudding and warm cinnamon buns on the menu. If you're in the area I highly recommend staying at the Stone Lizard.”
“I stayed at Stone Lizard for two nights on a hiking trip in May 2026. It was great. The room was small but so well-designed it didn't feel small. The backyard garden was a lovely place to relax, the breakfast was wonderful, and the staff really friendly and helpful. I plan to stay here again.”
